The substance we smoke in the hokkah is a mixture of plants of the family of the tobacco and honey or molasses. In Arabic, this kind of tobacco is called moassal.

The most current tobacco is natural or apple (toffah) flavoured . You can taste other flavours: strawberry, fruit cocktail, mint, apricot, cherry, melon, banana, grape, jasmine, pink, liquorice, etc.

It is packaged in boxes or in jars. You will always save money buying it in 250 grams packaging.

The most famous tobacco brands are Nakhla Tobacco (Egypt) and Sheik el balad (Tunisia). Sometimes you will find locally made tobaccos as in France with Le Prince tobacco. This one is softer than imported tobaccos.

Be careful: moassal is softened with some sweat products, but it is as dangerous as cigarette tobacco.
